Mararikulam: A teacher was booked for alleged negligence in handling a pet Labrador dog, which bit a 10-year-old girl who came to attend the tuition class.
The case was registered against Devika, hailing from Mararikulam. The incident pertaining to the case happened at 6:55 pm on March 16.
Devika takes tuition for kids at her house. The child's mother first spotted the dog attacking the child. She arrived at Devika's residence to collect the child following the class. The child suffered injuries to her right leg and foot, left leg and waist.
The dog belongs to Devika's sister. After hearing the commotion, the owner rushed to the spot and took away the dog. Initially, it was claimed that no one helped the child. Eventually, the child's parents reported the incident to the police after realizing that even Devika's family was afraid of the dog.
Devika is booked under IPC Section 289-Negligent conduct with respect to animal, IPC 336-Act endangering life or personal safety of others, and IPC 337-Causing hurt by act endangering life or personal safety of others.
