Dogs are generally self-sufficient animals known for their ability to sense danger.
But they are only sometimes on point when it comes to specific items. For instance, as much as a dog might be protective, most specifically over children, they cannot sense the danger associated with electrical items.
They cannot tell the difference between an electrical item and their chew toy. A pet dog got hold of a lithium-ion battery in his home in Oklahoma, USA, and things took a fiery turn.
The dog grabs the lithium-ion battery in video footage and chews on it. It seems to be biting hard on it, and then suddenly, it lets go and runs back when it begins to spark.
The lithium-ion battery sparks and sets the dog’s bed alight. The fire starts instantaneously and the dogs take cover by running away from the bed.
The dog that started the fire hung around near it for some time before leaving. Perhaps he was trying to think of a way to stop it, but we are uncertain.
“The fire was put out by the fire department, and all the pets escaped the burning home through a dog door while their owners were sleeping.” (Instagram)
It’s important to store and charge lithium-ion batteries in a safe and environmentally friendly way.
