The new business proposals have been submitted to South Ayrshire Council for consideration.
A vacant piece of land in Doonfoot’s Cunning Park Drive could make way for a new dog day care centre.
Ayrshire Live can reveal that the new business proposals have been submitted to South Ayrshire Council for consideration.
The agents in the plan is AJL Architectural Services, based in Ayr and the applicant is Gordon Ramsay, also of Ayr.
Mr Ramsay is seeking a change of use of a field to accommodate his proposed commercial dog day care centre- with associated access and parking.
The land is owned by the applicant and previously contained structures for horse livery including stables and a tack room which have recently been removed.
A supporting statement for the fresh proposals states: ”The proposed development aims to provide a safe and engaging environment for dogs to play, socialize, and train. Recognizing the increasing demand for high-quality pet care services in our community, this new facility will cater to the needs of dog owners who seek a reliable and professional space for their pets.”
The statement continues: “The plan involves the construction of a timber structure, which is both sustainable and aesthetically pleasing, in harmony with the surrounding environment. The facility will operate daily, offering a range of activities including play sessions and training programs for dogs of all breeds and sizes.”
The centre will be open every day from 8am to 6pm, ensuring that dog owners have “consistent access” to the services.
According to the application, the business will be operated by the applicant (Mr Ramsay) and will greet the visiting public for a drop off and pick up of the dogs, adjacent to the family home on Abercromby Drive – but will operate out of the proposed building.
The daily schedule will include:
* Supervised play sessions in the spacious outdoor area
* Structured training sessions led by certified trainers
* Rest periods in comfortable resting zones
The supporting statement adds: “The proposed timber structure for the dog day care centre will provide a much needed facility for dog owners in our community. It is designed to be environmentally sustainable, beneficial to the local community, and operated with the highest standards of care and professionalism.”
The proposals are listed as ‘pending consideration’ on South Ayrshire Council’s online planning portal and a decision on them is expected in August.
