DAVENPORT, Iowa (KWQC) – A fire destroyed a mobile home and killed a pet dog in Davenport Saturday evening.
It happened around 6:30 p.m. in the 4800 block of W. Kimberly Rd at the Wild Rose Mobile Home Park in Davenport.
According to officials, both occupants of the home evacuated safely before fire crews arrived, and the fire was extinguished quickly.
However, at least one dog was not able to escape and died in the fire.
A person who lived in the home told KWQC one more dog was missing.
Officials on scene said the cause of the fire is under investigation, but the person who lived in the home believes it was electrical.
Fire crews on scene faced icy conditions but officials said it made no impact on their response other than applying salt on scene.
Red Cross was called to assist the people displaced from their home.
No firefighters were injured.
