A scary moment was caught on camera by guests visiting the San Diego Zoo when they saw a stray dog in the gorilla enclosure.
The male German Shepherd ran around in distress as a gorilla chased it throughout the exhibit.
Zookeepers jumped to action and did what they could to distract the two gorillas…

After luring them inside, the dog was able to be safely leashed and removed from the enclosure for evaluation.
They believe the dog wandered into the park on his own, and he has no chip or collar.
He is being placed on stray hold for the time being to see if an owner comes forward.
But the worst was avoided!
