Marcus is one of the many dogs who have benefitted from these donations.
A kind stranger found Marcus wandering around Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was matted and skinny, digging through the trash to find whatever scraps were edible. He didn’t seem to have anyone to look out for him, so the stranger got him to follow her home so she could help him.
The woman took Marcus to the vet, but when they checked him for a microchip, they couldn’t find anything. She also made a post on social media, but no one came forward to claim the pup. It seemed like Marcus was a stray, but he deserved lots of love. So, the woman brought him to Route 66 Pet Rescue.
Route 66 Pet Rescue didn’t hesitate to help Marcus. He had several medical concerns that needed to be addressed, but the volunteers refused to give up on him. As long as he had a chance at life, they were going to keep helping him.
Food Donations Save Marcus
This rescue is one of the many organizations that receive healthy food donations from Greater Good Charities’ GOODS Program. Without having to worry about money for dog food, the rescue can better focus on medical needs for dogs like Marcus. Thanks to the donations, Marcus was well-fed while also receiving the veterinary care he needed.
“Marcus finally has a full belly and with good quality food, his hair looks amazing after our groomer got all the tangles out,” Route 66 Pet Rescue wrote.
Thanks to the GOODS Program, dogs like Marcus can receive quality food to help them look and feel better than ever. With those donations, rescue dogs have a better chance of finding a forever home once they’ve recovered.
