Chambers was overlooked, having just two visits in her six months at Maricopa County Animal Care & Control — then a virtual visit changed her life.
MARICOPA COUNTY, Ariz. — Chambers the dog spent a lot of time at the Maricopa County Animal Care and Control. She was at a shelter for six months and only had two visits with potential adopters. With hundreds of animals in shelters, Chambers' story is a common one.
A woman named Rachel, who lives in Minnesota, recently lost her two dogs and a horse she owned for nearly 20 years. She saw a social media post featuring Chambers and was happy to see a dog who looked just like one of her dogs who recently died. A virtual meet and greet was set up with Chambers and the rest is “woof-story.”
Rachel flew to Arizona and drove Chambers all the way back to Minnesota, where the happy pup — who is now named Ember — is enjoying the snow, her new toddler “roommate,” and finally found her “furever” home.
