Dog park opening, Literacy & Laundry Day

WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) – A west Wichita dog park is set to reopen Wednesday with improvements for you and your pets to enjoy.

The City of Wichita will hold a ribbon cutting at 11:30 Wednesday morning for the improved Country Acres Dog Park near Central and Ridge.

The city installed new seating, shelters and hydration stations along with a wash area for you to clean your dog’s paws.

Also on Wednesday, Laundrycares and the Laundry Station are partnering up for Free Literacy and Laundry Day.

The event runs from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Laundry Station on Kellogg and Oliver. You can get your laundry done for free and pick up some free books for children. There will also be face painting, raffle prices and a ribbon cutting for the facility’s Read, Play and Learn center.

Numerous community partners will be on hand for the ceremony, along with City Council members Mike Hoheisel and Dalton Glasscock.
