Dog reiki is latest over-the-top amenity at NYC high rises

They’re not exactly ruffing it

One Wall Street, a landmark high-rise where studios start at a cool $1.15 million, has amenities galore. There’s a 75-foot pool overlooking the New York harbor, a private restaurant and bar, and several sound-insulated podcasting studios.

But, the skyscraper’s most noteworthy luxe offerings aren’t for two-legged residents. They’re for the dogs.

“Our residents’ [pets] are part of their family,” Michael Lawrence, lifestyle manager for the condo tower, told The Post.

There are “Yappy Hours” where puppucinos flow, on-site grooming services in a designated “Canine Club” area and a partnership with Hound Honey, a premium concierge service that will schedule vet appointments and arrange puppy playdates.

On a recent evening, there was even dog reiki.

Reiki master Alex Petrullo, 32, demonstrated the ancient Japanese technique — which uses energy force to treat a being’s mind, body and soul — by moving her hands on and around a 9-year-old mini Australian Shepherd named Eva.

“Living in New York City can be hard for dogs and humans,” Perullo said. “Just as human New Yorkers feel they’d benefit from some calming energy after dealing with city life, dogs need that too. In some cases, even more than the people do.”

The reiki event was the first in a series of monthly dog wellness seminars the building plans to hold.

“It’s all about creating healthier pets and happier owner,” Lawrence said.

Thus far, occupants of the building — NYC’s largest ever office-to-housing conversion — are enjoying the amenities for Fido.

“Odin had a very good time at the launch party,” wrote a pleased residents in the Instagram comments section of a post commemorating the grand opening of the Canine Club. “He liked the pup-cups, too!”

“I’m so happy we chose to make One Wall Street our home,” Leah K. told the Post of living in the building with dog Nigel, adding, “Some days I’d almost like to switch places with him!”

Petrullo began doing reiki on pets in late 2022 after the family’s dog, Toby, was diagnosed with kidney failure at age 16.

“Doctors gave him two weeks to live,” she said. “But I began performing reiki on him every day, multiple times, and he lived for another two months.”

An independent practitioner, she now has her own business, The Alchemy Co., offering energy cleanses to both pets and their owners.

“It’s OK if you don’t understand the power of reiki, but it is the most incredible, loving gift,” said Petrullo, who charges $50 for a 30-minute session.

“Dogs are our best friends, and our besties deserves the best healing.”
