Chika, a Labrador Retriever mix from McDonough, Georgia, was accidentally left outside one night when her family went to bed. Instead of barking or scratching at the door, Chika cleverly used her nose to ring the doorbell, alerting her family. The entire incident was captured on the doorbell camera and shared on social media, quickly going viral. The video shows Chika patiently waiting by the door after ringing the bell, confident that her family would soon let her in. People worldwide praised Chika for her intelligence and resourcefulness.

Chika’s owner, Robert Fox, was astonished by his dog’s new skill. He told local news outlets he had no idea Chika knew how to ring the doorbell. “I was shocked,” he said. “I didn’t know she could do that.” Fox believes Chika observed family members using the doorbell and decided to try it herself.

This isn’t the first time a dog has used a doorbell. In 2018, a dog named Marshall made headlines for ringing a neighbor’s doorbell after getting lost when his owner accidentally left the gate open.

These stories remind us of how intelligent and resourceful our canine companions can be. Dogs have a remarkable ability to learn and adapt to their environment, as demonstrated by Chika’s doorbell-ringing skills. This also highlights the strong bond between dogs and their owners; Chika knew ringing the doorbell would bring her family to her rescue.

So, if you accidentally leave your dog outside, don’t be surprised if they find a creative way to let you know they’re ready to come back in. You might just have a doorbell-ringing dog like Chika to ensure you never forget them outside again!
