Dog taken from Austin Pets Alive! by unauthorized person now safe

AUSTIN, Texas — A dog who went missing from Austin Pets Alive! last month has been found safe and well and is now back in the shelter’s care.

APA! said Frisco was found “thanks to longtime volunteer Laura Davis” but did not provide more details.

Officials with APA! posted on lost-and-found pages, distributed flyers and alerted other animal shelters in their mission to find Frisco, a friendly lab mix.

Meanwhile, APA! said its transport van was recovered several hours after being stolen from its downtown campus last month. Unfortunately, the van was no longer running and the facility's gate suffered about $13,000 in damage.
