Dog Used For Testing Experiences A Gentle Touch & Grass Beneath Her Feet

Frannie and Gertie are two Beagles with an incredible story of survival and love. Both rescued from a life of laboratory testing, these gentle dogs have found their forever home and have left an indelible mark on the hearts of their adoptive family.

When Frannie first arrived at her new home, it was her very first time being out of the lab. Her paws were shaved, scarred, and clearly aggravated from the repeated insertion of needles. It was evident that she had given birth to puppies, but the details of her past life remained a mystery. Despite the pain and fear she carried with her, Frannie quickly revealed herself to be a loving and loyal companion.

For the first year, Frannie’s new family believed her vocal cords had been cut because she never made a sound. Over time, as she became more comfortable in her surroundings, she found her voice and began to bark. Her newfound confidence was a testament to the love and support she received from her adoptive family.

A year after Frannie’s arrival, Gertie joined the family. Interestingly, she had been at the same lab as Frannie, but their personalities were markedly different. While Frannie was initially skittish around the family’s young daughter, Gertie was immediately at ease with children, playing fetch and happily accepting pets. She even formed a special bond with the family’s blind son, who was adopted from China. Gertie’s presence provided him with comfort and a sense of security.

As time went on, Frannie’s territorial instincts began to emerge. She discovered her protective side and would chase after the family’s cats – a surprising development considering her initially timid demeanor.

The heartwarming journey of Frannie and Gertie has had a profound impact on their adoptive family, changing the way they view and choose the products they use. Beagles are often subjected to laboratory testing due to their gentle and forgiving nature. Even when mistreated, they rarely fight back or bite, making them ideal candidates for testing.

Let’s do our part and our research. Animal testing is a cruel practice that has to be stopped. Many companies no longer test on animals but it is still legal in 39 states. Look at product labels before purchasing.
