MCMINNVILLE, Ore. (KATU) — McMinnville police are investigating an incident involving two dogs that were at large and killed several chickens and ducks.

The attack took place on March 23, just before 5 p.m., in the 900 block of SW Edmunston Street. The animals were in their owner's yard when the dogs attacked.

The dogs had left the scene before police arrived and have not yet been identified or located. Officers are actively working to identify the dogs' owners and their location to follow up on the incident.

“We are asking for the community's help in identifying the owner of these two dogs,” police wrote. “One is brown in color, and the other is a darker, brindle pattern with what appears to be a light color accent on its right front paw. If you know who the owner is, or where these dogs live in town, please call non-emergency dispatch at 503-434-6500 and ask to speak with an on-duty officer. Please reference case 25MP0879.”
