Whether you want to adopt a dog, cat, rabbit, guinea pig or hamster, someone always wants to find a new owner.

A few animals from Ashley Heath and West Dorset RSPCA are listed below, but more can be found on the centre's websites.

To help the Ashley Heath Animal Centre and West Dorset RSPCA carry on their work, you can donate to their websites here and here.

Larna

Gender – Female

Dog Food topper - Getquelle365

Age – Two years old

Breed – Crossbreed/Unknown

Colour – Blue Merle

If you want to adopt Larna you can view their full profile here.

Larna is a dog who is said to have lots of energy and an affectionate nature.

She is also very smart, as scent games and using feeding enrichment make her very happy.

As Larna enjoys running around a lot, a house with an enclosed garden area would be preferable.

Initially, Larna would like someone around most of the day to begin with and once settled, she may be able to be left for short periods.

She could share a home with children who are aged 16 years plus and are dog-confident.

Emily and Madeline

Gender – Female

Age – Nine years old

Breed – Ragdoll

Colour – Cream and Grey

If you want to adopt Emily and Madeline you can view their full profile here.

Emily and Madeline are a pair of cats who are looking to find a loving new home together.

They are described as “sweet and friendly girls who enjoy a fuss”.

Due to having thick, long fur, they will require a lot of grooming, as it can become matted very easily.

They are fine being brushed for short periods at a time, so it is something that will need to be done frequently.

The RSPCA adds: “They would be best suited to someone who has had experience with thick long coats and understand the work involved in maintaining it.”

Emily and Madeline would need to be the only pets in the home, could live with children of secondary school age and would need to be kept indoors.

Parsnip

Gender – Not stated

Age – One year old

Breed – Domestic Shorthair

Colour – White and Black

If you want to adopt Parsnip you can view their full profile here.

Parsnip is a cat looking for an alternative lifestyle home due to being quite stressed around people.

The RSPCA explains: “The alternative homes we are looking for are those which provide an outdoor lifestyle where cats are able to live more independently from people whilst still being supported with food, water, shelter and veterinary care.”

As a result, Parsnip will need understanding owners who will respect his personal space and accept that he may always be a “hands-off” cat.

Staff at the centre have been working with Parsnip and other cats to help reduce their stress levels around people, and improvement has been shown.

Keith

Gender – Male

Age – 10 years old

Breed – Domestic Longhair crossbreed

Colour – Ginger and White

If you want to adopt Keith you can view their full profile here.

Keith is described as a “friendly” and “quiet” boy who enjoys snoozing a lot.

He will need regular grooming to keep his long fur in good condition, but is still building up some trust to allow people to do so.

Currently, he can be groomed gently on his back and sides, but doesn't like his underside being groomed.

The RSPCA adds: “Keith will play with toys that move quickly to spark his natural instincts, but he would rather find a nice quiet spot to watch the world go by.”

Purdy

Gender – Female

Age – Five years old

Breed – Domestic Shorthair crossbreed

Colour – Black and White

If you want to adopt Purdy you can view their full profile here.

Purdy is described as an independent cat who prefers doing her own thing.

Once she has got to know someone, she does enjoy a fuss on her terms.

She would prefer to be the only pet in a new home and would do best in an adult-only household.
