This weekend, there are going to be a lot of different Halloween events to choose from. But there will only be one that allows you to dress up, bring your pets (dressed up or not), trick or treat, check out local vendors, AND HELP OUT OUR FURRY FRIENDS!
The Yakima Humane Society had a tail-wagging blast with their Summer Bash event (recap for that event here), and they are doing it again for Halloween!
Food, vendors, music, tattoos, trick or treating, costumes, and lots of pets finding new homes! That is just a taste of what’s in store this at Woof or Treat, Saturday (October 28th) from 2 to 6 p.m. at Sherman Park, located right outside the Yakima Humane Society’s shelter at 2405 W. Birchfield Rd. on the Yakima Greenway by the Arboretum.
“Make sure to wear your costume and dress up those furry friends for our Halloween Costume Contest! Prizes for the best-dressed person and animal!” – YHS Facebook Page
This event is free to the public, with vendors offering “Tricks or Treats” to guests. Donations to the Yakima Humane Society are always welcome, and yes, pets will be up for adoption, and many will be dressed up in their spookiest costumes!

Want to help out YHS but can’t make this event? No worries, there are plenty of ways you can help those who help our fuzzy friends! Dnations of supplies or even money are always welcome! If you can’t help anything financially, your time is always welcomed! Volunteers are always needed. Whether it’s help at the shelter or just coming by to spend some time and walk the dogs. Anything is appreciated! For all the information on adoption, donations, or volunteering, you can check out their website at YakimaHumane.org.
