Drew Barrymore’s Dog Derails Eva Mendes Interview As He Continuously Chews On The Star’s Dress: “Are You Guys Seeing This?”

It’s safe to say Drew Barrymore‘s dog Douglas might have a thing for Eva Mendes. On this morning’s episode of The Drew Barrymore Show, the beloved talk show host was forced to reprimand her pup for chewing on her guest’s dress.

It’s not uncommon for Douglas to quietly hang out on the couch during his mom’s interviews. But today, he made his presence loud and clear as he burrowed his head into Mendes’ floral Stella McCartney dress.

“You guys, he’s like biting the little — look — the roses,” Mendes said before scooching over slightly. “Stella McCartney’s gonna love this.”

However, Barrymore ignored her dog and instead gushed over Mendes’ new campaign with McCartney. While she tried to keep the segment moving, Douglas had other plans in mind.

“Right? Are you guys seeing this?” Mendes asked again as he continued to gnaw at her dress.

Still, Barrymore forged on. She talked about McCartney, who has four children, being an “extraordinary mom” all while Mendes did her very best to distract Douglas from her outfit.

It wasn’t until the very end of their interview when Douglas jumped off the couch and started sniffing around Mendes that Barrymore finally laid down the law.

“Douglas! Douglas! Douglas! You’re lucky she’s such a good person! She’s being cool with it!” she yelled as the camera panned to her adorable pet, who was wearing a bowtie.

This is hardly the first time Douglas has derailed an interview. On a June episode of The Drew Barrymore Show, Barrymore caught him getting a little too friendly with Jeremy Renner.

“Out of nowhere, sometimes Douglas gets extremely turned on and it’s just a liability. It’s a compliment, but it’s super awkward,” she said, prompting Renner to kindly kiss her head. “Thank you. There’s nothing like when your child embarrasses you. Thank you for understanding.”
