A dog breeder has again made waves in the canine world with his latest purchase—Cadabomb Okami, a rare hybrid of a wolf and a Caucasian Shepherd, for a jaw-dropping ₹50 crore (€5.3 million).
This one-of-a-kind ‘wolfdog’ has been described as the most expensive dog in the world, and it’s already gaining a massive fan following in Karnataka.
At just eight months old, Cadabomb Okami is already an imposing presence, standing at 30 inches tall and weighing 75 kg. According to The Sun, Okami was bred in the United States and later sold through a broker in India in February.
S Sathish, a well-known former breeder and dog collector who has bought Okami, said: “I spent ₹50 crore on buying this pup because I am fond of dogs and like to own unique breeds and introduce them to India.”
This isn’t the first time Sathish has spent a fortune on rare and exotic dog breeds. Last year, he purchased a Chow-Chow resembling a Qinling panda for €3 million (₹27 crore). He currently owns more than 150 different breeds, each rarer than the last.
Sathish has also turned his passion into a profitable business, earning money simply by showcasing his dogs at events.
“People are always curious to see them. They take selfies and pictures. My dog and I get more attention than an actor at a movie screening! We both are crowd-pullers.”
According to The Sun, he charges anywhere between £2200 for 30 minutes to £9000 for five hours (₹2.3 lakh – ₹9 lakh) for appearances with his dogs.

Okami has already become a social media sensation, especially after Sathish paraded him at multiple high-profile events, including film premieres.
Sathish’s estate covers seven hectares, where he employs six keepers to take care of his prized dogs. His pets don’t require air-conditioning, thanks to Bangalore’s cool climate, he claims, but he ensures they are well cared for.
Unlike many dog owners who rely on commercial pet food, Sathish follows a strict raw diet for his dogs.
“Packed dog food has steroids and reduces their lifespan. I feed all my dogs raw food. Okami eats three kilograms of raw chicken meat every day.”

The Caucasian Shepherd, one of Okami’s parent breeds, is renowned for its strength, intelligence, and protective instincts. Native to cold regions like Georgia, Armenia, Azerbaijan, and parts of Russia, these dogs are often used to guard livestock against predators, including wolves.
While rare breeds and exotic dogs attract admiration, selective breeding—especially of hybrids like Okami—raises serious ethical concerns.
Overbreeding to meet high market demands often leads to genetic disorders, weakened immune systems, and shortened lifespans.
Certain breeds suffer from hip dysplasia, breathing problems, and neurological issues due to forced genetic modifications.

Additionally, the illegal wildlife trade thrives on exotic hybrids, often at the cost of animal welfare. Experts encourage adoption over purchasing, as millions of stray and shelter dogs are in need of homes.
