A 33-year-old Elyria woman was cited after her two large dogs allegedly attacked an Amazon delivery driver Dec. 16.

Elyria police cited the woman at her residence in the 100 block of Sonesta Court for dog at large, a minor misdemeanor.

The Amazon driver called police after she was bitten by either one or both Great Pyrenees dogs, according to an Elyria police report.

The driver was placing a package on the woman’s porch when the dogs came running around the side of the house from the back yard.

She told police the dogs ran up to her and she put her leg out in front of her to create distance from the dogs.

Due to the rain and wet ground, she slipped and fell and the dogs jumped on her, biting her on her left arm, the report stated.

She screamed for help and the owner of the dogs retrieved the animals, the report stated.

The owner told police her pets were in the back yard while she was inside her home.

She told the officers the dogs were wearing shock collars, and she had an invisible electric fence to contain the dogs in her yard.

However, officers noted they didn’t see any signage on the property stating there was an invisible electric fence installed or the presence of dogs on the property.

The delivery driver had visible injuries on her arm and shoulder and a bite mark on her left forearm, the report stated.

She also had a bite mark on the front of her left shoulder that broke the skin and was slightly bleeding.

The dog owner must appear Dec. 26 for a hearing in the Elyria Municipal Court.
