Baja was reunited wiith owner Adam more than two years after being stolen.
It was the theft of an entire litter of pups and their mother which moved Lisa O’Connor to act. Occurring during the first lockdown, in July 2020, when the demand for dogs and, in particular, pups, was at an all-time high, the theft saw the eight-week old springer spaniels taken from a family home in Enniscorthy.
The dogs had been sleeping in a secure kennel in the back-garden of a family home when the thieves, using bolt-cutters, sneaked into the premises and removed all seven pups and their mother. Eventually, thanks to the efforts of the authorities and the Dublin Society for Prevention of Cruetly to Animals (DSPCA), the family in question were reunited with the mother, but at a cost.
