An “entitled” visitor to a Welsh National Trust property left a hand-written rant and a bag of dog poo in the car park because they couldn’t find a bin.

The unknown person visited Colby Woodland Gardens in Pembrokeshire on Thursday and was already incensed at the need to pay £3 to park at the attraction.

But when they were unable to find a bin to deposit their pooch’s poo, it was enough to push them over the edge to a full-blown tirade.

Taking matters into their own hands, they scrawled a note on a torn scrap of paper which said: “£3 to park and you don’t even provide a bin for dog poo. Sort it out.” With extra exclamation marks for impact, the owner then decided it was okay to leave his bag of poo along with the note in the car park.

The head gardener at Colby found the note later in the day and was incredulous at the sense of “entitlement” from the visitor. He pointed out that there are actually bins in the garden, but not in the over flow carpark where this person had parked.

He shared a picture of the offending item on Instagram with the caption: “Entitled a******s feel justified in not only leaving a notice to warn us but also feel ok to litter in this area of outstanding beauty.”

His post attracted a number of replies as people commented on the amount of litter left on some of Wales’ most beautiful paths. Called “poor wee millennial” by one, there was little sympathy for the visitor who could’ve simply taken their poop home with them.

“Life’s too short”, one said, while another asked “What is wrong with people”. A pet hate among those who replied also vented their fury at dog owners who suspend their dog poo bags on trees.

“It also annoys me when dog poo bags hang from trees because the owner’s are too lazy to carry them home,” one added.

Colby Gardens are a popular attraction for dog owners thanks to the myriad of woodland paths and gardens that reach all the way to the dog-friendly beach at Amroth.
