An Essexville Man faces a charge of armed robbery for allegedly leaving a pet store without paying for nearly $400 in merchandise.

According to police, 22-year-old Damian Leske entered the Pet Supplies Plus store at 2624 Center Avenue near Bay City around 8:12 p.m. Witnesses told officers that he loaded up a cart with dog and cat food and left the store. When confronted by a store employee, Leske allegedly flashed a gun that was in his waistband then drove off. He was later pulled over and arrested.
