LAKE CHARLES, La. (KPLC) – The HERPS exotic reptile and pet show was held at the West Cal Event Center on Saturday.
Thousands of reptiles, amphibians, and mammals were available for purchase as animal enthusiasts had the chance to interact with them.
Many of the vendors were local and some came from far away to showcase their animals.
A vendor based out of New Orleans said this event is a great opportunity to network and inform the community about their passion for animals.
“We do ball pythons, crested geckos, hog-nosed snakes so we are a vendor, we breed them and this is a passion for us it’s a business but its also a hobby. I have a full-time job, this is something we just love to do we love going to different places and showing our passion to kids, grown-ups, and people who love this hobby I’ve met some fantastic people doing this and I hope to do it for another 30-40 years,” Extreme Serpentines Owner Brian Perez said.
The event continues from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday.
