HILLSBORO Ore.
(KPTV) - A family has been displaced following a house fire in which firefighters rescued a number of pets Saturday morning, according to Hillsboro Fire.

Firefighters were called to the scene in the 3000 block of Southeast Cypress Street around 6 a.m.
Saturday, after multiple reports of flames coming from a home’s garage.

According to Hillsboro Fire, the blaze quickly spread to the living area of the house, directly above the garage.

All residents were able to evacuate the fire, and firefighters rescued four dogs, two turtles, a lizard and a hamster that were trapped inside.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
