Family Flippantly Told Woman ‘Take Unwanted Filthy Puppy’ Cast Out In Dirt

On a day like any other, a desperate and rejected puppy found herself by the side of the road in a messy pile of unwanted things. With traffic passing her by, her eyes blinked in confusion. Despite her awful situation, she sat in the dirt, wagging her tail and looking at her rescuers, who thankfully showed up. The volunteers with Sidewalk Specials asked around, trying to find out who she belonged to. It turned out that she wasn’t wanted, and the family responsible for her was more than happy to let her go.

Halo, as the puppy would soon be named, was taken straight to the vet for her first checkup. After her examination, she was diagnosed with a skin condition, and her rescuers quickly got her into a little sweater to keep her warm. From there, it was off to an emergency foster home, where she could have a nice big meal and begin her healing journey.

Halo’s foster home already had a dog named Safari, who was adopted from Sidewalk Specials. Safari quickly became the best foster brother a puppy could ask for. Over the course of two weeks, Halo began to recover and thrive under the care of her foster family. It was during this time that her future forever family came into the picture.

Her new mom, Melanie, was eager to adopt Halo and bring her into their loving home. The moment Halo was cleared to go to her new home, her forever family welcomed her with open arms. Upon meeting Halo, Melanie was instantly brought to tears, overcome with emotion and love for the little pup.

Now part of a wonderful family, Halo’s life has changed for the better. The children adore her, always wanting to pet her and play with her. Halo’s new brother, Zach, plays with her every single day, making sure she’s never bored or lonely. The once-abandoned puppy has become an inseparable part of her new family, joining them on boat trips and swimming in the lagoon.

Halo’s intelligence and loving nature are evident in her daily life. She knows when it’s time to fetch the children from school and enjoys the car rides to drive them to school and pick them up. We are elated that Halo was saved and quickly found a happy, healthy home for her to spend the rest of her life in. Thank you, Sidewalk Specials!
