Apple Valley Animal Services is once again bringing cars, cats and canines together this weekend at the “Fast & Furrious” car show and low-cost pet adoption event.
The event is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, May 17, at the Apple Valley Animal Shelter, 22131 Powhatan Road, organizers said.
“Come on down for a howl'n good time!” AVAS said in a written statement. There will be “live music, drawings, adoptions, car show, food, fun and more!”
The dog adoption fee will be reduced to $35 during the event, including spaying or neutering, while the cat adoption fee will be $20, organizers said.
Already altered animals will be adopted out for free, although additional fees such as microchipping, vaccination and licensing may still apply.
For those wishing to exhibit cars in the car show, check-in begins at 8 a.m., and no cars will be admitted after 9:45 a.m.
Pre-registration costs $20 per vehicle, or $25 with an event T-shirt and lunch, according to the statement. “Vehicles must remain stationed until the end of the show.”
All proceeds will benefit the animals at Apple Valley Animal Shelter, AVAS said.
