WHEELING, W.Va. — Dog enthusiasts and their furry companions gathered in Warwood for Fidofest 2025, a day filled with fun, celebration, and community spirit. The event offered a paradise for dogs to run and play freely, while their owners enjoyed food trucks, local vendors, and a dedicated kids area. A highlight of the festival was the dog costume contest, which drew much excitement.
Scott Schenerlein, Executive Director of Wheeling Heritage, emphasized the community-building aspect of the event.
“People who are dog lovers and pet lovers all over and it's a sense of building community,” Schenerlein said. “A couple of our pillars are arts and culture so we put in a new art installation here at the Fitzsimmons Dog Park and we have this in conjunction every year to celebrate the fact art is important.”
Organizers noted that the festival was designed with the spirit of dogs in mind, making it a memorable day for all attendees.
