Fifth plane of Operation Returning in Peace departs from Israel with 215 Brazilians and 16 pets

The fifth plane of Operation Returning in Peacefrom the federal government, took off from Tel Avivin Israel, this Saturday, 14th, with 215 Brazilians and 16 pets. The KC-30 aircraft is scheduled to arrive in Brazil at 1:45 am this Sunday, 15th. The landing will be at Galeão Airport, in Rio de Janeiro. According to the government, passengers whose final destination will be Galeão will disembark at Terminal 2. The rest will be sent to the Salão Nobre at Galeão International Airport. With the arrival of the repatriates, the operation will add 916 Brazilians already rescued from the war between Israel and the terrorist group Hamas. The first 211 disembarked on a FAB (Brazilian Air Force) that landed last Wednesday, 11th, at the Air Base of Brasilia. Another 214 arrived on Thursday, 12th, at Galeão. The third FAB plane with another 69 Brazilians repatriated from the conflict zone in the Middle East landed on Brazilian soil on Friday, 13th, at the airport of Recifewhere five passengers disembarked, and the rest followed their final destination to Guarulhos Airport, in São Paulo. With 207 passengers, two dogs and two cats, the fourth flight arrived in Brazil in the early hours of Saturday, the 14th. Disembarkation also took place at Galeão.

According to the Brazilian ambassador to Israel, Fred Meyer, the entire embassy team is mobilized 24 hours a day to ensure that all Brazilians interested in returning are transported back to Brazil. Itamaraty’s forecast is that there will be a total of 15 flights. “Anyone who wants to leave will leave. This is President Lula’s order,” said Meyer. The Brazilian government also guaranteed bus transportation from the main Israeli cities to Tel Aviv airport.
