According to the Broadview Heights Fire Department, both the person and the dog are ‘doing well.'
BROADVIEW HEIGHTS, Ohio — Crews from the Broadview Heights Fire Department were able to rescue a person and dog from a burning house on Friday morning.
According to a post on the department's Facebook page, firefighters were called for a residential structure fire at approximately 6:45 a.m.
“Heavy fire conditions were met at arrival to the scene,” Broadview Heights fire officials wrote.
The home's occupant was rescued and taken to a nearby hospital. Firefighters were also able to rescue the occupant's pet dog. “Both are doing well,” according to the post.
Broadview Heights crews were assisted by firefighters from Brecksville, North Royalton, and Seven Hills.
Investigation of the fire is being conducted by the Southwest Emergency Response Team Fire Investigation Unit (SERT FIU). Officials from the agency report that Friday's fire was the fourth one they responded to this week.
