FIre destroys house, but pets are saved | News


Firefighters were able to save a dog and two cats from a fire that destroyed a home on North Lincoln Street early Saturday morning.

Heavy fire  was coming from the front of the structure on the 27000 block of North Lincoln Street when firefighters arrived just before 1 a.m.

Firefighters began fighting the fire, which had engulfed about half of the structure and was threatenin a detached garage. Becaause the house was located far from any hydrants, firefighters had to use additional engines to battle the fire.

The pets were located when firefighters searched the house after the fire was knocked  down.

Several  people living in the house were displaced and the Red Cross was called in to assist them.

No injuries were reported to civilians or firefighters. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
