LEHIGH COUNTY, Pa. — Officials are warning hikers in Lehigh County about a potential danger to dogs.
According to the Pennsylvania Game Commission, dog treats stuffed with metal fish hooks were found near the George W. Outerbridge shelter on the Appalachian Trail over the weekend.
The harmful treats were reported near the North Trail Loop leading to the shelter on State Game Lands #217 in Washington Township in Lehigh County.
The Game Commission warns the treats could be deadly to pets and wild animals alike.
