DOTHAN, Ala. (WTVY) – Dothan’s Forever Wild Trails will soon get several new additions.
The Dothan City Commission entered a license agreement with the Alabama Trust Fund to add a dog park, restroom facility, and a pavilion.
Although owned by the state, the city manages the trail.
Tyson Carter with Dothan Leisure Services says these enhancements are a necessary addition to make the trail more appealing to dog owners and families.
“Forever Wild Trails are a very highly used amenity that we have. The dog park with the pavilion and the restrooms is such a huge addition to this property. It makes it more accessible to people and puts more eyes on the facility. It is a perfect marriage of biking and hiking and pet owners,“ Carter said.
This is the first step to the dog park and other additions.
Construction is expected to begin after the first of the year.
