Newark, N – Newark Public Safety Director Fritz G. Fragé is seeking the public's assistance in identifying suspects involved in a robbery that took place on Saturday.
The incident occurred at approximately 5:56 a.m. at an Exxon Gas Station on Springfield Avenue. A blue Dodge Caravan, bearing New Jersey license plate W25UWS, arrived at the scene. The driver requested $5.00 worth of fuel, and after a credit card transaction, a dispute allegedly arose over a perceived overcharge.
During the altercation, four female suspects and one additional male suspect reportedly attacked the gas station attendant. The group is also accused of stealing $100.00 from the victim's possession.
The suspects subsequently fled in two separate vehicles, one being a blue Dodge Caravan that has since been recovered. The second vehicle is described as a gold or tan Buick with dealer plates DWL-38 and visible damage on the front bumper.
Newark authorities are urging anyone with information regarding the second vehicle or suspect identities to contact their Crime Stopper tip line. Tips can also be submitted anonymously through the Police Division’s website.

A separate stabbing occurred a few minutes later in the 1500 block of Rockville Pike, near the metro station. Another adult male victim was found with a stab wound to the back. Both victims were transported to local hospitals and are being treated for injuries that are not life-threatening.
The suspect in these incidents is described as an African American male wearing all black clothing and currently remains at large. A significant law enforcement presence is expected in the area as the suspect search continues.

Denton, MD – Deputy State Fire Marshals are investigating a fatal fire that occurred in Denton. The fire was reported to have taken place in a shed.
Firefighters reached the scene at the 22300 block of Butler Court shortly before 2:30 p.m. Upon arrival, they discovered the body of a victim inside the shed.
