REDDING, Calif. — Update, Sunday, June 2, 8:06 a.m. — A family of four, and their dog, were able to escape a fire inside their home off Denton Way on Sunday morning.
The Redding Fire Department (RFD) says crews were initially called to the home for a report of a fire inside the back bedroom of a home in the 1200 block of Denton Way, near Nelson Drive. They say the family awoke to the fire inside their home and were able to evacuate with their one dog safely.
The RFD says the fire caused significant damage to the home. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
As of this update, the RFD expects crews will remain at scene for another three hours.
