Largo, FL (BLOOM) – SPCA Tampa Bay is hosting its Pocket Pets of Gold adoption event from Wednesday, March 6, through Sunday, March 17, offering the community a chance to adopt various small animals without the usual adoption fees. The event encompasses a wide range of “pocket pets” including rabbits, rats, guinea pigs, along with reptiles like turtles and select livestock.

The shelter, known for its inclusive For-All policy, aims to find loving homes for over 80 animals, boasting a diverse array of species from the furry to the scaly. Interested adopters are invited to visit the shelter in Largo or browse available pets online, with a reminder that early arrival and appropriate carriers are recommended for those looking to adopt.

Adoption activities will take place at the SPCA Tampa Bay facility located at 9099 130th Avenue North in Largo, Florida, with operational hours from Wednesday to Sunday during the event period. Potential adopters can find more details about the event, including specific adoption hours and available pets, on the SPCA’s website.

SPCA Tampa Bay’s commitment to the community extends beyond this event, as the organization cares for over 8,000 animals annually, including a variety of wildlife. The shelter’s initiatives, such as this fee-waived event, not only provide animals with loving homes but also enable the organization to continue its mission of supporting animals in need throughout the community.

For additional information on the adoption event, the animals available, or other services provided by SPCA Tampa Bay, visit their website at spcatampabay.org or contact them at 727-586-3591.
