Dogs ran and played off-leash during the unveiling of the Pleasant Valley Recreation & Park District’s new dog park near the Camarillo Airport on Monday.
Freedom Dog Park, which takes up about an acre at the corner of Willis Avenue and Convair Street in Freedom Park, will provide a controlled environment for dogs to interact off-leash, Mary Otten, the district’s general manager, said in an email. It also allows dog owners to socialize and practice responsible pet ownership.
The park features areas for large and small dogs includes waste disposal stations.
The $200,000 project took 10 months to complete, according to Otten and the district.
