TULSA, OKLA. (KTUL) — Tulsa Police recently came across an unexpected passenger… a friendly dog who had apparently had a run-in with some unruly street dogs.
The suspect dogs were nowhere to be found, but the cheerful canine was more than willing to hop into the police car for a ride.
Officers weren't able to find the pup's owner, so it was taken to the Tulsa Animal Services shelter to be cared for until the owners are found or it can be adopted.
Police are reminding residents that fireworks can frighten pets, causing them to run away. If you find a lost dog, you can take it to any Tulsa Fire Department station to check for a microchip. The animal shelter will hold lost dogs for three days and post their pictures on their website. After three days, the dogs become available for adoption.
For more information on found and adoptable dogs, visit the City of Tulsa's animal services website.
