From Abandoned to Adored: Alfred’s Journey to a Forever Home via the Rescue Roadtrip!
In early June 2025, Alfred and his three puppy siblings were discovered on a remote country road in Bosque County, Texas — malnourished, infested with fleas and worms, and completely alone. Their tiny bodies were weak, but their spirits remained unbroken. Despite everything, they wagged their tails, still eager for love and warmth.
It was a heartbreaking sight… but also the beginning of something beautiful.
Rescued by BARK (Bosque Animal Rescue Kennels) in Clifton, TX, the puppies received the urgent care they needed — nutritious food, medical treatment, vaccinations, and spay/neuter surgeries.

Thanks to the incredible support of iHeartDogs customers, Alfred and his littermates were chosen for the very first iHeartDogs/BARK Rescue Roadtrip — a life-saving journey to bring 28 at-risk dogs from Texas to safety and hope in Colorado Springs, CO.
Then came the big day: Saturday, June 14, 2025. The BARK Rescue van set out on its 12-hour trip to Colorado, filled with wagging tails and dreams of new beginnings.

Waiting at the other end was Karl’s Canine Krew with foster families ready to open their hearts and homes.

And Alfred’s story only got better.
Just two weeks later, on June 28, Alfred and his fellow travelers attended the Denver Dog Fair — where, only 22 days after being found abandoned, Alfred was adopted into a loving forever home.
