Furry friends in need of forever homes

Boise, Idaho (CBS2) — It's time for Idaho Pets! We're introducing you to some adorable animals from the West Valley Humane Society who are eagerly waiting for their forever homes!

Meet Sailor, a 2-year-old Australian cattle dog mix.

The West Valley Humane Society says, “This high-energy guy is looking for an experienced, patient family who can provide him with the exercise, attention, and consistency he needs to thrive. Sailor has a lot of love to give, but he can take some time to warm up to new people and animals, so he's best suited to a home with kids 12+.

With his agility, Sailor can jump 6-foot fences, so a secure, tall enclosure is a must to keep him safe and contained. Due to his prey drive, Sailor will need a home without small animals, including small dogs and cats. A mandatory meet-and-greet is required with any resident dogs to ensure a good match.

Sailor's anxious nature means he requires a lot of exercise and mental enrichment to help him stay calm and content. He enjoys spending quality time with his people and will thrive in a home where he can have plenty of physical activity and attention. He's ready to put his high energy to good use, whether it's a game of fetch, long walks, or simply hanging out with his family.

Next, we have a trio of siblings: Lavender, Marigold, and Aster!

Lavender and Marigold are girls, while Aster is a boy, and they're just over 2 months old.

These sweethearts came to the shelter as tiny strays but blossomed in a loving foster home where they grew big, strong, and full of personality. Next, meet Baxter, a 17-year-old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel mix.

His affable personality and gentle demeanor make him a wonderful companion. Despite his senior status, Baxter's enthusiasm for life remains undimmed. His golden years are a time of peace and contentment, a period he'd love to share with a loving family.

Baxter will need an indoor home and a secure containment area to stay safe from wandering and escaping. Positive reinforcement, fear-free training will be needed. Daily exercise and mental enrichment will be very important. If you have other dogs in your home, we would be happy to arrange a meet and greet with your dog(s) to make sure everyone gets along. We don't know how he will do with cats.
