GENESEE COUNTY, Mich. — The Genesee County Animal Shelter is hosting a special adoption event through Friday, offering dogs and cats for just $10.
Hannah Peterson, the shelter's social media specialist, said the event aims to address the rising number of intakes and the slowdown in adoptions.
“We can't change every single animal in the world, but for that one animal that you maybe adopt or foster or rescue or whatever it is, you change the animal's life forever,” Peterson said.
All adopted pets will be spayed or neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated. In addition to the reduced adoption fee, Genesee County residents will also pay a mandatory $10 license fee for dogs.
