Colin and Lisa said: “We opened Gone Barking in Richmond as itās probably the dog-friendliest town in the country, and the local folks are welcoming too. Itās the kind of place where perfect strangers say hello.
“Lots of people, and their dogs, visit the town to see the historic castle and the mesmerising waterfalls which is a great starting point for some of theĀ best dog walks.
“And when youāre done walking in the beautiful North Yorkshire countryside, youāll find that a great many of the cafes, pubs and restaurants you can relax in are dog-friendly too.
“We wanted to add to these local dog-friendly businesses in welcoming all the family to the town and so a little shop, just for dogs, was the inspiration for Gone Barking.”
They are opening just in time to take part in the ongoing ‘Magic Tenner’ event.

Chris Sands, founder of Totally Local which is organising the event, said: “We are always blown away by the response from indie businesses to our campaigns, and the reports of increased footfall and sales at a time when the cost-of-living crisis is hitting many people.
“The Magic Tenner event is a good way for shops to support their communities by offering great deals, and for the community to support those shops that make our towns better places.”
