GOODING, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) — From 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. on Saturday, May 18th, the Gooding Dog Pound located on 7th Avenue West, held a fundraiser to support the needs of their local pets. The “Fund the Fuz” event was hosted with the help of A Road to Home Non-profit, where locals came out to purchase items donated by the community.
Items that were donated included plants, animal accessories, and more. The shelter also had a ticket raffle, where ticks went for $5 each of $20 for six tickets. For people who won the raffle, they received certain items up for sale including a handmade full size Demin quilt. Oh My Mini Donuts also made an appearance at the event to help support.
“We pay for all of the medical for this facility, because shelters do not have the funding to do that,” said member of A Road to Home, Susie Peterson. “We pay for the spades, neuters, vaccines, any emergency care– hit by cars– that kind of stuff that comes in. So, the fundraiser helps cover the cost of that.”
If you missed out on today’s event and still want to support, you can still make donations to the Gooding Dog Pound or help by adopting a dog for no more than $60, or by signing up to foster a pet in need.
