A 60-year-old woman was beaten and robbed at gunpoint during a violent robbery at the Little Amazon Pet Store in the PriceSmart compound along the South Trunk Road on Friday night.
The victim, of Enterprise, Chaguanas, was alone at her workplace around 7:45 p.m. when a slim-built man wearing dark clothing, a hoodie, and a face mask entered and pointed a firearm at her.
The criminal struck her several times before taking $4,277 in cash from the register, proceeds of the day’s sales.
Officers responded to the scene and reviewed security footage from cameras inside and outside the store.
The woman sustained injuries and was treated at hospital.
