Stray animals have to tirelessly search for food, water, and shelter. Many are abandoned by owners or by their own mothers at a young age. One puppy found herself in a desperate situation on a busy highway. While we are unsure how she got there, we are relieved that she was not harmed– thanks to an amazing man who risked his own life to save hers. With three lanes of busy traffic rushing by, the puppy darted to the edge and pressed her body tightly against the meridian. She didn’t have a safe way out until her savior showed up.
This kind-hearted gentleman witnessed her plight and stopped his vehicle. He watched in horror as cars and trucks continued to whiz past. With his stomach in knots, he braved the oncoming traffic and made his way across three lanes to get her. The puppy was cowering as low as she could, frightened and dazed. The man spoke over the loud engines and told her it was going to be okay, that he was there now and she was safe.
He knelt down and stroked her head, hoping to calm her down. He then scooped the puppy up and held her tight. Now, it was time to walk back. Fortunately, some cars saw what was going on and slowed down. Some even stopped. The man and the puppy safely crossed the three lanes of traffic and stepped onto the sidewalk. It was official! The puppy and her new Guardian Angel were safe and sound.
It’s acts like these that prove bravery still exists and humanity is still intact. We are thrilled by this rescue, and you will be too. Play the video below to witness it for yourself!
