HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – National pet week is May 4-10, and the Hawaii Pet Expo 2025 is happening this weekend.
The Hawaii Veterinary Medical Association (HVMA) is holding the free expo at the Neal S. Blaisdell Center Exhibition Hall Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Organizers said they aim to encourage responsible pet ownership and the strengthening of the unique bond between people and their pets.
The event will have educational displays, live animal demonstrations, and the latest in pet products and services.
There will free pet care advice at the HVMA Ask-A-Vet Booth. A parade of dogs will take place on Saturday, while a parade of cat breeds will take place on Sunday.
The Annual Hawaiian Kennel Club Puppy Match will take place on Sunday.

Organizers said that pets are welcome, but dogs must be leashed and pets must be in good health and under their owner’s control at all times.
Donations of non-perishable food items are being accepted at the door to benefit Hawaii Foodbank.
Organizers encourage attendees to bring their cameras to take advantage of the numerous photo opportunities available at the expo.
