CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — A local firefighter is in the hospital Thursday afternoon suffered an ankle injury while responding to a house fire in the 200 block of Sullivan St. near the Annaville area.
A Corpus Christi Fire Department battalion chief told 3NEWS that two pet dogs were in the home at the time of the blaze. One of the animals died and the other was treated at the scene and left in the care of a neighbor.
Fire officials told our crews that no one was home at the time of the incident.
They have yet to contact the owner of the home.
The fire is still being investigated at this time. Officials said the fire was fully engulfed when they arrived on scene.
