  • Sweet Dog Mason Longs for a Forever Home After Multiple Shelter Returns

Forked River, NJ — Mason, a nearly six-year-old dog currently residing at the Associated Humane Popcorn Park Shelter, is in urgent need of a permanent home after being returned to the shelter once again.

Mason was recently adopted and his new family was dedicated to giving him a loving home. However, due to unforeseen circumstances, the owner of their rented home sold the property, and the new landlord refused to allow pets. This marks another return to the shelter for Mason, who has faced similar challenges in the past.

Mason first arrived at the shelter in 2020 and has experienced multiple adoptions and returns through no fault of his own. He has occasionally encountered difficulties with other pets and changes in his adopters’ living situations. Shelter staff describe him as one of the sweetest and most affectionate dogs they have ever met.

Mason is best suited for a home without other pets. He loves interacting with people of all ages and is happiest when he receives attention and affection. Due to his reaction to other dogs, he should be walked on a harness and re-directed during encounters with other animals. Despite his stay at the shelter, Mason remains eager for a forever family.

Anyone interested in adopting Mason or helping spread the word can reach the shelter at 609-693-1900 or by emailing office@ahsppz.org.
