BROWARD COUNTY, Fla. – The Humane Society of Broward County joined Local 10 News Saturday in continuing its search to find loving, permanent homes for pets.

HSBC Vice President of Marketing Cherie Wachter introduced 4-month-old Star to Local 10 viewers.

Wachter said Star is about 20 pounds and will need some training.

Star came from a sister shelter and has only been with the shelter for about 48 hours.

Wachter advised that Star will need a larger space or yard to run.

Wachter said if you want to take Star home you should sign up for the HSBC’s pet obedience classes to help train your new furry friend.

Wachter also introduced Bowie and Sabbath, a pair of kittens to Local 10 News viewers.

She said they are both a fun pair and can easily be separated or go home with one another.

Wachter also said they have a lot of bigger breeds and older pets looking for their ‘furever’ home.

Wachter also spoke about the HSBC’s annual “Walk for the Animals” event where donations will go toward the well-being of animals looking for a home and any surgeries they may need.

The HSBC also said they are accepting toy donations for the animals to play with at the shelter.

Wachter said the human society’s goal is to raise $500,000 to help with animal and their medical needs.

There are many more dogs, cats, rabbits and furry friends up for adoption at the Humane Society of Broward County.
