TUCSON, Ariz. (KVOA) — In a powerful display of hope, several dogs impacted by the deadly Southern California Wildfires will get a second chance.
In a coordinated effort to support pets and their families affected by the wildfires, the Humane Society of Southern Arizona (HSSA), the Pima Animal Care Center (PACC) and the Arizona Humane Society (AHS) in Phoenix have teamed up.
They say they will bring 70 dogs to safety in Arizona. These dogs were previously housed in shelters near wildfire-affected areas.
The dogs will be flown to Arizona by Wings of Rescue. Tucson will receive 50 of them.
We're told once the dogs arrive, all of them will receive thorough examinations by local veterinary teams to ensure their health and well-being.
