This film had a record-breaking paw-dience.

An outdoor screening of “PAW Patrol: The Mighty Movie” Sunday in Los Angeles set a new Guinness record for the “most dogs attending a film screening.”

At the Autry Museum in Griffith Park, 219 dogs gathered to celebrate the release of the movie, which features an animated canine crew of search-and-rescue heroes.

“We are thrilled to have worked with the team at Paramount Pictures to break the Guinness World Record for most dogs at a film screening,” Brittany Thorn, executive director for the Best Friends Animal Society in Los Angeles, said in a statement.

“I hope people reading about this milestone will be inspired to get out and adopt,” she said.

While animal adoptions skyrocketed during the pandemic, many pets were sadly returned to shelters when people resumed their normal routines once restrictions lifted.

Paramount Pictures, Entertainment Tonight, Best Friends Animal Society and Street Food Cinema came together to host the record-breaking screening, which beat the previous record, set in October last year with 199 dogs, in the hopes of attracting attention to the millions of pets waiting to be adopted.

“I was so excited to adjudicate this Guinness World Records attempt for most dogs attending a film screening,” said Michael Empric, an official from the record-tallying group.

“It’s not every day I get to enjoy an ‘Officially Amazing’ time at the movies with hundreds of furry friends.
I’d like to congratulate Paramount Pictures & ‘PAW Patrol: The Mighty Movie’ for their ‘paw-some’ new record title!” he continued.
