Husky Keeps Digging in Yard, Owner Investigates and Makes a Life-Saving Discovery

Dogs truly are incredible creatures. They possess instincts and senses that humans don’t have, and sometimes their actions can even save lives.

This is the tale of a brave dog who prevented a dangerous explosion in a Philadelphia neighborhood.

On Christmas Eve, Chanell Bell shared her story, calling her dog Kobe “the Dog that saved the block before Christmas.”

In her video, Chanell described watching her four-year-old Husky continuously dig a large hole in the front yard. She mentioned that this behavior was unusual for Kobe. “I trust his judgment because that isn’t his typical behavior, and he is usually right,” Chanell explained to SWNS. “When I saw the hole, I realized it was odd behavior for my dog. My intuition told me to check it.”

Recently, Chanell had dealt with a gas leak in her home. After struggling with her heater, she used a gas level reader, which showed no issues inside the house.

However, Kobe kept digging in the same area, prompting Chanell to test the gas levels around the hole. The reader detected gas—a dangerous leak. “We were told it could’ve caused serious health effects like respiratory issues, brain damage, and even death,” Chanell shared with SWNS.

Over the next three days, workers repaired the gas leak. They explained that even something as simple as a lightswitch could have triggered a massive explosion. By finding the gas leak in time, Kobe saved everyone living on the block.

“It’s really, really mind blowing,” Chanell says in the video. “I’m so thankful for God, so thankful for my baby boy,” she added, referring to Kobe.

The amazing story quickly spread online, and many people hailed Kobe as a hero. Some even thought the story would make a great children’s book. Inspired by the support, Chanell wrote and published a book called The Dog That Saved The Block Before Christmas.

Doctor Left Her Dog In a Storage Bin

A children's doctor had been evicted and had left items behind when she left. Among them was something alarming: a plastic storage bin, where a dog had been locked inside. If someone is this cruel to a small, defenseless dog, how can they continue to treat children as a doctor?

Kobe also has his own website where you can find his social media profiles, buy him a treat on Amazon, and even purchase the gas level reader featured in the video—just in case you ever need one.

What an incredible story! It’s sad to think about what could have happened if the gas leak hadn’t been discovered, but thankfully, Kobe the smart dog stepped in and saved the day!
